KERECSENY-KARÁCSONY – A TILTOTT FÉNYÜNNEP

A kerecsen egy vadászsólyom, ősidőktől fogva fontos szerepet játszik a magyarok hitvilágában. A Kerecsen ősi magyar férfinév és egy ősi magyar ünnep, ekkor kerecsent röptetnek a Látóhegy tetején. A neve napja egyben az ünnep napja, tehát Álom hava, azaz december 21-én tartják, pontosan a téli napfordulókor Nagyboldogasszony napján. A Kerecseny fejedelmi férfinév, jelentése körben vadászó. A napforduló a Nap fiainak ősi ünnepe a kerecsen, a fénymadár ünnepe, a fényvadászat kezdete december 21-ről 22-ére virradó éjszaka. A Nyugati szerben megtisztul a lélek, a Keleti tűzben pedig újjászületik a fény.
